The story of how Pitch grew from a single court in Bangalore into India's largest grassroots basketball network — and the philosophy that drives it
About Pitch
Pitch was founded by Chidanand Kumar with a single court and a simple idea — make high-quality basketball coaching available to every child in Bangalore, not just the ones already in elite programmes.
Fifteen years later, Pitch is the largest grassroots basketball network in India. 1,000+ children train with us every term. Seven alumni now represent Karnataka and India at the state and national level. Our U-11 team came home with a perfect 5-of-5 record from the Da Nang International Tournament in Vietnam.
We don't just keep children busy — we build players, with measurable skill progression every term, and we build character that lasts longer than the season.
Chidanand Kumar
Founder
Every Pitch coach goes through regular clinics and ongoing training — so the same high standard of coaching is delivered consistently across all our locations.
The Pitch 5C Development Approach
Experienced and passionate coaches focused on long-term player development, fundamentals, and game understanding.
Structured training plans designed for each age and skill level, ensuring progressive development across all stages.
A positive environment that promotes discipline, teamwork, leadership, and respect.
Access to quality basketball courts and structured practice environments that allow players to train effectively.
Players get regular opportunities to compete through leagues, tournaments, and inter-academy matches.

Player development philosophy
Long-term over quick wins
We develop players for a decade of basketball, not a single tournament. Fundamentals first, always.
Every child progresses
Skill, not age, sets the pace. Each athlete is met where they are and moved forward, term by term.
Character on and off court
Discipline, teamwork, and leadership are coached as deliberately as the crossover and the jump shot.

What parents say
We don't ask for reviews. We don't run referral programmes. What you read is what parents actually wrote, unprompted, over years.
“Wonderful coaches. It's inside Play Arena itself. Good basketball court and very motivating coaches. They follow a good training plan. Really a good place to start your kid's basketball journey.”
Mansvi Sharma
“My daughter has been training here for 8 months and the improvement is remarkable. The coaches actually know each child by name and track their individual progress. Safety standards are excellent.”
Priya Venkatesh
“My son went from never holding a basketball to being selected for the school team in one year. The curriculum is structured and the coaches are genuinely passionate about developing the children.”
Rohan Mehta
Not sure which programme?
We'll watch your child for one session and tell you honestly which programme fits best — by skill, not by age. No registration, no pressure.
